Pietra Pinta is one of them. In the hills around Cori, in Italy’s Lazio region, the Ferretti family has cultivated a lasting connection with vines, olive trees and the land for generations. It is a story in which agricultural heritage and a willingness to innovate have always gone hand in hand.

Deep family roots

The Ferretti family’s ties to the countryside around Cori date back to the nineteenth century. Knowledge of the soil and daily life in the fields have shaped the estate ever since. Each generation has built on the experience of the one before, responding to new challenges without losing sight of its origins.

During the 1950s, Bruno Ferretti recognised the potential of mechanisation to improve agricultural practices. In 1967, new approaches to harvesting olives marked another important step. The Pietra Pinta brand was established in the 1970s, followed by further agricultural experimentation and a growing focus on grape varieties in the 1980s.

A modern winery and olive mill

In 1993, the estate opened a new production centre featuring a temperature-controlled winery and an olive mill designed for cold extraction. This investment captures Pietra Pinta’s approach: technology is not a replacement for tradition, but a way to protect the character of the raw ingredients and bring out their qualities.

Wine and extra virgin olive oil may be different products, yet they share the same origins: Cori’s landscape, careful work among the vines and olive groves, and attention at every stage of production.

The landscape in every glass

The hills around Cori are known for soils of volcanic origin and a landscape influenced by Mediterranean breezes. Local grape varieties such as Nero Buono, Bellone and Malvasia Puntinata offer distinctive expressions of the area’s winemaking heritage. In the cellar, respect for these varieties meets technical expertise in a continuous search for balance and character.

Quality comes with responsibility

Today, Pietra Pinta combines its pursuit of quality with a commitment to biodiversity, environmental stewardship and the people behind its products. Its SQNPI certification reflects an approach to farming that places sustainability at the heart of the estate’s future.

Getting to know Pietra Pinta means discovering the connections between a family, a landscape and an agricultural culture. Beyond the wines and oils themselves, there is a place and a community whose work gives every product its identity.

Discover Pietra Pinta: explore our story, browse our wines and extra virgin olive oils, or discover our estate experiences.

Explore the story of Pietra Pinta in Cori, where the Ferretti family brings together winemaking, extra virgin olive oil, tradition and innovation.

[1

post-4435","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized
["GET
