PIETRA PINTA: MUCH MORE THAN A WINERY
Pietra Pinta company of the Ferretty family has worked since the early 1800s the extraordinary harvests of the vineyards and olive trees on the hills between Cori, ancient town south of Rome, and the marvellous natural and historical ruins of the Ninfa Gardens, probably the most romantic garden in the world. Several historical battles happened in Cori witnessed by the legend of a red-painted stone in memory of the battle between the consuls Gaius Marius and Lucius Cornelius Sulla at the dawn of the Roman Empire. Such a painted stone, literally “Pietra Pinta”, gives its name to the company.
In Cori the wind of the Tyrrhenian Sea coast meets the slopes of the mountains, while the spring waters feed on volcanic soils: an ideal environment for the ripening of the grapes and olives. Nowadays, Pietra Pinta owns a winery, a crusher and a farmhouse to envision a unique approach on taste, products and people. In this way, the Ferretti family steers the passion of these centuries-old traditions towards the future.
